My Recent Instagram Pics#pattern #checkerboardLove these twirlies #krististouch #lightondarkBecoming interested in what is #inandoutoffocus in a picture, and what is in and out of focus when we are looking at things. The pictures I take are those that #stopmeinmytracks - literally. Lately, I've been trying to better understand this, and, figure out what should be in the image I photograph. Increasingly, I realize, the camera is a very limited tool. Either too much or too little is in focus. Usually, I think, I'm stopped in my tracks by something quite small in my range of vision. But oftentimes it is all that in the range of vision that creates the impact of what I focus on. Cameras get too much in focus. So now I've begun playing with f-stop, bokeh, and composition. The flower is f-stop, tho a macro too. The railing is composition - trying to obscure the background with the shadow it's in. The other was already, through f-stop, working, but I added bokeh.Something there is about #dappledlight I've always loved. #shadows for sure, but a #softness as well, an #inandoutoffocus that it's behind me.
